Rory Walsh is a Senior Associate with over ten years Common Law experience acting for injured plaintiffs and he currently works in the Major Projects department in Melbourne. Rory is working on the Bushfires class action, which seeks to recover damages for victims of the Black Saturday Kilmore East-Kinglake bushfire.

Rory joined Maurice Blackburn in 2005. He has practised in New South Wales and Victoria, appearing in most Courts in those jurisdictions. He has also acted on behalf on surviving family members in Coronial investigations and inquests.

Rory has previously acted in cases involving

  • scuba diving deaths
  • misdiagnosis of cancer
  • surgical negligence
  • industrial fatalities
  • police officers wounded in the course of their duties

Prior to becoming a lawyer Rory lectured in law at a Tertiary Institute in the Republic of Ireland.
